Motichoor Laddu
Motichoor Laddu is a treat for both eyes & taste buds. Motichoor Laddu is a very popular Indian dessert, a must for all Indian festivals & celebrations. This mouthwatering dish made from gram flour, deep fried in pure ghee, dipped in sugar syrup & mixed with sliced nuts, the out come is a cute pearly orange ball.....which is soooo delicious in taste & perfect for this festive occasion.
Ingredients:
1 cup gram flour
1 cup sugar
4-5 almonds chopped
4-5 pistachio chopped
10-12 rose petals
1/2 tsp green cardamom powder
1 tbsp ghee
5-6 saffron strands
1 pinch orange food color
Ghee to deep fry
Water as required
Method:
1. Sieve gram flour, add ghee, food colour & mix well, now add water to make a
batter of thin consistency without any lumps. Keep batter aside for some time.

2. In a pan add sugar, water & boil it, once sugar dissolves completely, boil it on
low flame with continues stirring, till sugar syrup reaches one string consistency.

3. Turn off flame, add cardamom powder, saffron to sugar syrup, mix well, keep it
aside.

4. Heat ghee in a pan, take a greased boondhi ladle, pour boondi batter over it &
rub batter gently on the ladle with a spoon, so the small drops of batter ( boondi)

5. Fry boondi till they become golden, remove on a tissue & add them immediately
to the sugar syrup.

6. Repeat the same with remaining boondi batter.
7. When boondi absorb all sugar syrup, add chopped pistachio, almonds, melon seeds
to the boondi & mix well.

8. Divide boondi mixture into small portions, shape each into a laddu.
9. Garnish with chopped almond, rose petals.
10. Tempting motichoor laddu are ready to serve.
