Ingredients:
1 cup toovar dal
1/2 cup masoor dal
2-3 dry red chilies
1 small onion finely chopped
2 tomatoes finely chopped

4-5 green chilies chopped
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp mustard seeds

1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
Pinch of asafoetida
1 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
1 tbsp ghee
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Clean,wash & pressure cook dals up to 3 whistle.
2. Heat ghee in a pan add mustard seeds,cumin seeds when they crackle add onion.
3. Stir & cook till onion become golden brown.Add ginger garlic paste,green chilies,dry
red chili & cook for some time.

4. Now add chopped tomatoes,asafoetida, cook on medium flame till cooked.
5. Add red chili powder,turmeric powder,salt & cook till ghee separates.
6. Add cooked dal & additional water according to consistency needed, mix well.
7. Let dal & spices cook on low flame for 2-3 mins.
8. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.
