Gujiya

Gujiya


Ingredients:


1 cup maida 
2 tbsp ghee 
Water as required

Filling:


1 cup mava (khoya)
1/2 cup fine powdered sugar 
1 tsp chiraunji (dry fuit)
1/2 cup desiccated coconut 
1 tsp cardamom powder 
1 tsp almond chopped
1 tsp cashew nut chopped
1 tsp pistachio chopped


Method:


1. Take maida & add ghee.

2. Now add water to make a tight dough. Keep it covered for 10-15 mins.

3. For filling heat mava in a  heavy bottom pan & stir till it turns light brown. Let
     it cool.

4. Add sugar, desiccated coconut, cardamom powder, almond, cashew nut, pistachio
    & chiraunji to
 it & mix well. The filling is ready.

5. Now take dough divide it in small parts & make  balls of each part

6. Keep them covered. Take one ball & make a small circle out of it
   

7. Now take circle, place it over the gujiya mold, apply water on its sides, fill 
    the mixture in the circle & close the mold.

8. Press tightly on the sides of the mold.

9. Now open the mold, take out gujiya. 

10. Repeat same with remaining dough & filling to make gujiya.

11. Take ghee in a pan & heat it. Slowly transfer the gujiyas to it, fry till they turn light brown. 

12. Let them cool & store in a closed container. 

13.Delicious gujiyas are ready for  diwali.
