Navratri is the most celebrated Hindu festival devoted to Goddess Durga. People observe fast during the span of the festival. Various kind of delicacies are made for these days. I m posting the recipe of Falahari Khandvi which can be enjoyed as a light snack on fasting days.

Khandvi is a traditional Gujarati mouth watering snack. It is light on stomach, absolutely delicious, a perfect option for breakfast or evening snack. I am sure you will enjoy the fasting version of this Gujarati delicacy.


Falahari Khandvi


Ingredients:


1 cup sabudana (sago) flour 
1/2 cup ararot flour
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp green chili paste
1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
Buttermilk as required
4-5 curry leaves
1 tsp oil
Salt to taste

Method:


1. Mix together sabudana flour, ararot, buttermilk, green chili paste,
    salt, make a smooth batter.

2. Pour flour batter to pan, stir constantly so that lumps do not form.

3. Keep stirring till the batter becomes thick, about 10-12 minutes.

4.Take a big plate, spread it thinly with a flat spatula,

5. Gently lift the edge & roll up carefully like a swiss roll.

6. Cut small pieces out of each big roll.

7. Place these on a serving dish.

8. Heat oil in a small pan, add cumin seeds, curry leaves
    & stir for few sec.

9. Pour this over khandvi & garnished with chopped coriander leaves.

10. Falahari khandvi is ready to serve.

Lord Ganesha, one of the most beloved god is considered to be a symbol of good fortune, wisdom, prosperity & wealth. Ganesh Utsav is the festival to worship lord Ganesh & offer "bappa" to his favorite "Modak".

Lord Ganesha is fond of sweets, modak is lord Ganesha’s favorite sweet & is prepared in almost every household.. There are numerous versions of this delicacy like ukadiche modak, fried modak, banana modak, mawa modak, chocolate modak, dry fruit modak, Rava modak & many more.

I am sharing the recipe of Rava modak, i am sure you will like this ......

Ingredients:


1 cup semolina
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup mawa
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
1-2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp cashew nut, almond, pistachio chopped
1/2 cup ghee



Method:


1. Heat ghee in a pan, add semolina & cook till golden in color.

2. Remove from heat & let it cool.

3. Now add mawa, cardamom powder, cashew nut, almond, pistachio
    & mix well.


4. If mixture is dry ,add milk & mix well.

5. Take a portion of the mixture, place it on one side of the modak mold
    & close it
 tightly.

6. Remove excess modak mixture from the edges of the modak mold &
    demold modak.


7. Repeat same process for remaining mixture.


8. Rava modaks are ready for this Ganesh Chaturthi.
