Dal Fry
Ingredients:
1 cup toover/arhar dal
1 onion finely chopped
2 tomatoes finely chopped
3 cloves garlic finely chopped
A pinch of asafoetida
1 tsp dry mango powder
1 tsp coriander leaves finely chopped
3/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2-3 dry red chilies
1 tbsp ghee
Salt to taste
Method:
1.Clean wash & pressure cook dal with 2 cups of water.
2. Heat ghee in a pan. Add mustered seeds when they crackle add cumin seeds asafoetida
chopped onion, garlic stir till golden brown.

3. Add tomatoes, red chili powder,turmeric powder dry red chilies,dry mango powder & stir for
2 to 3 mins.
2 to 3 mins.
4. Now add dal & mix well, switch off the heat.
5. Garnish dal with coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice.
