Dal Makhani


150 gm whole black urad dal 
50 gm rajma (red kidney beans)  
2-3 green chili chopped
1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 large onion chopped
2-3 tomato chopped
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds 
1 tbsp ghee
Pinch of asafoetida
1 tsp butter
3-4 onion slice
Water as required
Salt to taste


1. Wash & soak black urad dal, rajma in water overnight.

2. Pressure cook urad dal & rajma with enough water till done.

3. Heat ghee in a pan add cumin seeds, ginger- garlic paste,onion,cook  till
    onion become golden.Now add green chili 
& asafoetida, tomato & stir.

4.  Mix red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala .Stir for 2-3 mins.

5. Add cooked dal,rajma to tadka some water & bring it to boil.

6.Transfer it in a serving bowl.
7. Garnish with butter & onion slice.

8. Serve hot.
