Rava Dhokla


2 cups rava (semolina)
1 tbsp oil 
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp green chili paste
 Water as required
1 cup yogurt 
2 tsp eno fruit salt 
1 tsp coriander chopped
Salt to taste

To temper:

1 tbsp oil 
1 tsp mustard seeds 
2 tsp sesame seeds 
6-7 curry leaves


1. In a bowl, add rava, oil. Mix well until there are no lumps.

2. Add yogurt, salt, green chili & ginger paste. Mix well.

3. Add water, mix until a smooth batter forms & there are no lumps.

4. Allow batter to rest for 15-20 minutes.

5. Add eno fruit salt to the batter & mix well. The batter will foam up.

6. Pour batter immediately into the greased dhokla plates.

7. Gently place into the steamer. Cover & steam cook for about 15-20 mins.

8. To temper heat oil in a pan on medium heat.

9. Add mustard seeds, sesame seeds & curry leaves, allow them to pop.

10. Pour this evenly over steamed dhoklas.

11. Cut the dhoklas into neat squares.

12. Garnish it with coriander & serve hot.
