Onion Uttapa
Ingredients:
3 cup rice
1 cup dhuli urad dal
2 onion finely chopped
2 green chilly chopped
1/4 tsp red chilly powder
Oil as required
Water as required
Salt to taste

Method:
1. Clean, wash & Soak rice & dal in a separate bowl for 6-8 hours.
2. Now grind them separately with sufficient water & add rice batter to dal batter & mix
well.
3. Cover & leave the batter for fermentation for 12 hours.
4. Add salt & 1 pinch red chili powder to batter.
5. Heat a non stick tava, sprinkle a little water & wipe it with a
cloth.
6. Pour 3/4 cup of batter & make a small, thick & evenly circle.
7. Cook it for 1-2 mins & then sprinkle onion, green chilies,red chili powder over it.
8. Drizzle some oil around uttapa. If it is cooked , you will see lot of holes
on the top.
9. Now flip uttapa to the other side & cook till it become golden brown.
10. Serve hot onion uttapa hot with coconut chutney & sambhar.
