Ingredients:

1 cup poha (rice flakes) 
3 medium potatoes, boiled & mashed
1 cup bread crumbs
2 tbsp refined flour  
1 onion finely chopped
2 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
1/2 tsp cumin seeds 
2 green chilies finely chopped
1/2 tsp mustard seeds 
1 tsp red chili powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Oil as required 
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste





Method:

1. Clean, wash & soak poha for 5 minutes.

2. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, chopped onion & roast for
    some time.
    
3. Add red chili powder, chopped green chilies, turmeric powder, stir & mix well.

4. Remove from heat & transfer the mixture into a bowl, now add soaked poha, mashed    
    potatoes, salt, chopped coriander leaves & lemon juice. Mix well.

5. Divide the mixture into equal portions & shape each into a cutlet.

6. Take a refined flour, make a paste of it by adding water, dip each cutlet in it.
    Apply bread crumbs on both sides.

7. Heat oil in a pan & deep fry cutlets till golden.

8. Drain onto an absorbent paper.

9. Serve hot with tomato sauce or green chutney.

  1. Yum, I love the creative use of rice flakes. The crispy fried cutlets are so tantalizing and I can imagine biting in, dipped with some chili or yogurt sauce.
